Apologies for the delay in details, but here is the proposal for a 3 day trip to Champagne/Reims on the 21-23 September (Friday - Sunday) as previously mentioned in Porsche Post and also in the London email newsletter!
SCHEDULE
The proposed schedule is as follows:
Friday 21st Sept
0800 Chunnel departure
Drive to Reims (approx 273km, eta 1:30pm)
Check-in to B&B
Visit to Champagne vineyards in region and possible river cruise
Saturday 22nd Sept
morning: Touring around vineyards of Champagne
afternoon: Mercier Champagne Tour and dinner
Sunday
"Premier Weekend de L'Excellence Automobile" - Classic car displays and racing on the old Reims F1 race circuit including parade laps
- or -
free and easy around Champagne region at your own leisure
Sunday evening: return by Eurotunnel around 7-8pm.
General Info
The B&B hotel is the Auberge Champenoise (CLICK HERE). This B&B came recommended by Alan Armstrong and their recent good experiences on the Cayman register Champagne tour.
The Champagne Tour/Tasting may be hosted by Mercier Champagne house (CLICK HERE)

The approximate expected cost is as follows (all prices in GBP):
Total cost for 2 people (based on twin sharing):
140 Eurotunnel crossing
85 Accomodation
64 Mercier Champagne tour, tasting, and meal
35 Reims parade laps and entry
180 Approx petrol cost (3 tanks at £60/tank)

GBP 504 + expenses
Total cost for 1 person (single room)
140 Eurotunnel
67 Accomodation
32 Mercier Champagne tour, tasting, and meal
35 Reims parade laps and entry
180 Approx petrol cost (3 tanks at £60/tank)

GBP 454 + expenses
There are 10 hotel rooms currently reserved, and I need a definite confirmation from people as to whether they will come based on the above. Please post here of your definite confirmation to attend on 21-23 Sept. Confirmation of all attendees is required by Monday 12pm!
If we do not have sufficient numbers of confirmed people, then we would prefer to belay the trip until 2008 when we can include the region as part of a longer roadtrip. Actual day-to-day schedule can be reconfirmed based on attendees feedback/ideas, and the above is a starting suggestion.
