Centre Radiator Kit Q?

Chris, Isn't the centre radiator a standard fitment on Gen 1 tiptronic cars? The PET for your Gen1 Cayman gives the part number as 997 106 037 02 (see http://www.porsche.com/all/media/pdf/originalparts/en/E_987C_KATALOG.pdf illustration 105-17 for the whole assembly) Jeff
 
Correct, but the 3rd radiator by itself is almost 2X the price of the whole 3rd radiator kit. Porsche logic, you need to be German to understand [:D]

I presume that's just the radiator. The kit includes rad, ducting, hoses, fittings, etc., but maybe it's cheaper buying everything separately. Jeff
 
Thanks all! To answer a couple of Q's etc.... Why do I need it - I am not sure I do, however I have done the whole LTT thing and have considered if the third radiator may be further insurance in respect of coolant temperature and associated bore scoring. Hartech are of the view that it seems to not make a difference but my gut feeling is it cannot be a worsening situation by fitting it? The radiator kit is waaay cheaper to buy as a kit (strange I know) and it includes all the bits except the replacement centre cowl with the cut out.(had a similar situation recently where a section of clutch hydraulic hose was cheaper to buy as an assembly than it was to buy the faulty coupling!). Going to sleep on it, but at the price for a kit it's seems an attractive modification - will post my experiences. Thanks everybody!

Nope, that is the price of the kit.
 
The price from a UK Porsche dealer is a bit cheaper, unless it has gone up very recently, they were about £90+VAT a month or so ago. Maybe M030 was working in Euros, as I think he might be a well known and respected supplier from Belgium. [;)]
 
Interesting. I wonder: like some of the other motor factors, do Porsche offer a service kit comprising air, oil and pollen filters plus sparking plugs, poly-belt and sump plug washer for a lower price than the individual items? In which case, could you insist upon them including this price (less 10% Club discount) in their servicing quote? Jeff

Tried the part number at SunCoast, the 997 kit seems a little different to the 987? Do you have the 987 part number?

Hi Giff, you may need it there but still unlikely...... just think about the extra weight :(
 
Weight, at least it will be in the right place! It can top 45C here for several days which takes it's toll when driving around with the AC full on!

Looking at this P9 article: http://www.planet-9.com/reviews/cayman-performance-modifications/p403-porsche-third-radiator-kit.html It seems that some of the plastics for the Cayman have a specific 987 part number different from the 997.
