CDR 23 Problem. Not storing sound settings

Hopefully this is something easy

When I change the bass treble, fader Loud etc on both radio and CD they are ok for a day or so and then they revert back to the old settings ? Not sure if i have to store them somehow but I can't find anything in the manual. The radio stations store ok though

Any ideas or do i claim for a new head unit under warranty ??

I replied elsewhere [] to your post steve777, but for the benefit of pmjt and others...


the cdr23 automatically stores the last settings when in both cd and radio modes. if you set the sound settings in cd mode and then switch to radio you may have different settings, but on switching back to cd you should have whatever you last had when in cd mode. same when listenignt o the radio, if you seta certain bass/treble this should be what you get back to when switching to the radio from the cd.


if this doesn't work then you might have a faulty ciruit board. there is also another function in the menu for user1, user2 etc where you can set preferences - its fiddly to get to, and little use IMO, but if you have soem sort of software glitch you might be able to keep settings within user2 that you aren't able to under user1

Yeah seen your reply elsewhere. Does seem strange. I'll have a go at the other user settings otherwise its warranty time at the OPC

If the radio is within the manufacturer's 2 year warranty you'll be able to get it changed but I bet they won't entertain it under extended warranty.

My radio occasionally loses its settings. At one time I thought it might be something to do with using the spare key, suggesting that that might change the user, or it might be something to do with not using the car forseveral days. However I don't think it is anything to do with those things. I think it's just a bit of faulty memory in the radio. If it's happening all the time then atleast it can be replicated. Because mine happens so infrequently it's impossible for Porsche to reproduce it - maybe I should have had it changed under warranty within the first 2 years - it's too late now though. Someone else I know has had the same problem so I'm pretty sure it's a design fault.

Mind you I'm pretty unimpressed with the whole sound of the CDR23/BOSE setup.[:'(]

Seems to have suddenly started working fine over the past few days ???
