Sorry to hear about your IMS bearing problem.
Hartech seem to be the go-to company for 987.1 engine rebuilds, so you've nothing to fear getting them to quote for the job. I've no personal experience myself (I have a 987.2 Cayman) but have spoken to quite a few Members who've had a positive experience in dealing with them for IMS and bore scoring issues.
Definitely give them a call and they'll be able to advise you about rebuild options, costs, etc. I think Cameron's advice not to drive the car is sound, and they could probably remove the engine and ship it to Hartech for repair.
