Cayman GTS 4.0 Configurator Changes?

They also have PTS available again and you can view each colour on the car. It says add another 3 months to your wait time but guessing it could be even more. I would worry about receiving a car if I spec'd this unless of course I had a build slot now.

Olympus blue is tempting :)

At long last Porsche have added cruise control to the standard kit … about time too! Next step climate control? In your dreams! [:(]

I see that the tyre repair kit is now included in the base price as well, as it was always back in the day.

In all honesty, I think this may well be the last configurator update apart from the end of life special editions.

My OPC has told me they are no longer taking orders on GT4/Spyder as they've been told they will not get any more allocations and they are managing expectations of those who have or are wanting to put an order in for a GTS. They also said that next year will be the last year for the ICE 718.

Get one now if you can folks.

Stopping ICE for the 718 is out of sync with what previously the GT cars director Andreas Preuninger has said in official interviews, that being ICE production of the 718 family is safe until 2024. I get that OPCs will soon be stopping orders for new 718's the order book at some must already be reaching two years!

The length of 718 production hinges upon when the replacement EV will be in production. Porsche say it will be introduced in 2025 but there’s little evidence yet of electric mules being out and about testing so they’ll need to get their skates on, and it’s just a guessing game ATM as to when the release could occur in 2025.

Another factor is how long it will take to rejig the production line(s) for the electric vehicle, although you can be sure that with a full order book Porsche will want to keep 718 production running for as long as possible. My guess is until the August 2024 shutdown which would provide a good opportunity to reconfigure the line(s), assuming the EV is production ready.

There’s an additional complication in that although the Cayman is built in Osnabrück, I believe that the 911, Cayman and Boxster are built on the same line(s) in Stuttgart and I’m not sure if an ICE/EV production mix is possible.
