Cayman GT4: Where is Gen 2 going now?

It seems that the next generation GT4 will continue with 6 cylinder engines according to this Autocar article which also reports that the GT3 will have a manual option but that GT3RS will continue with PDK.

"Contrary to those who maintain the new 718 Cayman will only accept four-cylinder engines, Preuninger said there will be a new Cayman GT4 and it will have six cylinders."

you cannot take any thing any ones says for granted.

he said you cannot have RWS and NOT PDK, the R has it

he said you cannot fit PDK to the GT4, the CS has it

both these things happened.

We will just have to wait and see what comes, we know for sure a GT2 is coming, but new GT3 and GT4 who knows when.

the GT4 is a great product, it only needs the x51 power kit and a set of short ratio's, you can keep the GT engines on the GT3 cars to keep prices down.

The x51 kit is what mine will be getting at some point in the future, as I see that a good improvement plus will give the car that little bit extra power top end that it could do with

What ever the next GT4 has doesn't really bother me as there will only ever be one that was the first, but it's good to see that they will continue it, if you can believe what the mag has said as they do and have made things up in the past to try and shift the mag

X51 is a load of money like £11k worth of bits

then 5k on exhaust system and £5k on a new ecu.

Add in the long ratio's and it's not worth it.

i think I,ll wait for the gen 2 which will have better steering feel, being the 1st one holds nothing IMO ESP if the gen 2 also has a shorter gear set And x51 as standard.

Use the gen 1 as free motoring and hold out.

I'm sure there will be a Gen 2 GT4, 6-cylinder or otherwise, but based on Porsche's formulaic model launches, I'd guess it must be 2 years away, at least.

Comprised of modified cylinder heads, carbon-fiber air filter casing (upper part), new variable resonance intake manifold with six tuning flaps, etc etc.
