the issue with these figures is cars are based on list price and many people add £15k options which is not taken onto account.

Back to using these great cars on track, a US owner who tracks his cars frequently and hard has tested the car to near destruction. The subsequent repair and sale of the car is interesting, I wonder how the UK market would have handled this.

For those who want to run 18" wheels this from Rennlist

"Convert it (via the 997 front GT3 calipers and 997 turbo front rotors) for 18's, and run Nittos (245/275-40-18's). DeMan Motorsports already did it and confirmed it. Rear conversion not needed.

Those rolling diameters are very close to stock, and on a 10.5" rear rim, the 275-40-18 NT01 would be quite wide. Not to mention, it would be a easy cure for all the understeer everybody complains about." Yes Ralph, I'd seen that on P9.

Was the driver doing some durability testing for Porsche..? Or, maybe the kerbs on US tracks are a foot high..!

Why do you need the RSS TCA's? These are normally for when the car has been lowered a lot and the angle of the TCA's are wrong which can cause bump steer. I would have thought Porsche would have compensated for any lowered heights from factory.... Is this not the case?

430PS isn't too shabby D - and that RSS kit for both axles looks very comprehensive and nicely made.

Any prices for the engine and suspension upgrades? I see that Design911 are offering the rear toe steer kit for about £300.

Reportedly at Thunderhill in California where there has been erosion behind some higher curbs meaning if you go over the curb, there is big drop followed by big impact coming back against near vertical face of inner face of exposed curb.

Seems similar failures are not entirely unknown but are consequences of severe and unusual impact events.

Best to stay off 'elephant trunk' curbs as featured at Rockingham below on joining banked section from road circuit.

The standard TCA fitted to the GT4 is exactly the same length as fitted to cooking 981 Caymans (I have both in my spares department). The inboard eccentric adjustment does not allow sufficient adjustment to maintain rear toe on camber beyond about -1:35 nevermind on a car that also has ride height lowered.

it's just a kit to help give you more feel and help if you want to track the car and have full ajustment.

But well thought out stage 1 and 2 kits imo.

The rear toe links are a must as the GT4 are fixed items !!! very odd choice from Porsche, I have these on mine.

that's a full track kit to give you every thing one would need. they do a street kit which is ok for 90% of people who don't need camber more than -2.5 (caster needs adjusting if you go more)

The kit on mine is great I get no rear steer under hard brakes which I was getting and I also run -1.8 at the back over the very low -1.4 stock and fixed system.

costs for the BHP tuning are as follows the end prices are a dyno if you want one.

These price give you your own custom flasher so you can go stock any time for service work etc or OPC visits.

I think that the power is corrected for transmission losses. So, a "notional" crank power value of 430PS.

yep the cars detuned so a lot come from a remap which is a rare thing for a NA car. all BHP are crank.

stage 2 and 3 give you loads more torque at the midrange and smooth out the power dips, it's not all about peak BHP

stage 4 is no cats, so a bit of a pain, but cheaper.

So imo stage 1 which I believe is just a remap is the best value and easily reversible or stage 2 which adds TB and plenum!

But it would be nice to see all 4 stages power curves as less could be more around 6-7.5 k revs

you gain massive at 5k with TB over just the remap.

stage 2 is best value though TB, and remap with your own flasher.

the remap comes with 2 x BMC filters also.

Stage 4 is same power as 991gts is that max power that can be extracted from the 3.8?

what happened with all the stage 4 tunes and 450hp+?
