Cayman 718 Daily Driver

Was passing OPC Bristol last week and spoke to the service dept ref the fan problem, they knew what I was taking about straight way and car booked in for 30/01. The directive from Porsche is apparently to remove fan and spin it up to high rev's for 256 seconds (really... you've gotta love German precision...) then refit, if it fails a second time they will replace the unit. Thought it probably best to get this done as my warranty will be up in September, still considering what to do next... stick or twist... at least I've 6 plus months to think about it and that's part of the fun!

Car was in opc last week for the heater fan remedial work, back now and working fine as it was 99% of the time. The test will be after its left on the drive whilst I’m on holiday next week... will report back the outcome!

Whilst in I had a gen2 macan loaner, nice and comfy plus handy taking into account the weather! It had a couple of options I’d not tried before, radar cruise which is surprisingly effective on the clogged m4 / m5 arteries I use regularly and high beam assist which dipped the lights perfectly (no angry flashes from on coming traffic) on my dark Cotswold a & b road commute. Option boxes to consider ticking in the future!
