Cayenne S Diesel 4.2 V8 - Mandatory Recall ref DME Reprogramming

There is an interesting thread on this topic on Pistonheads. I refused to have the recall work done a couple of weeks ago and my OPC were fine about it but apparently many of the others are insisting on it if you want a service etc.

Thanks for this info. I'm a second owner of 4.2D (92A) in Sweden for a 2015 (EU5) model. But I have no way of knowing whether the SW downgrade on my car was done or not in past (or whether Porsche extends exhaust system warranty for 10yrs as in the US). In my case, The Porsche Service history does not state it. I'm not inclined to not ask them as i guess they can then flag this, if the car is still on existing SW. Alternatively, do you think not doing this SW upgrade (or downgrade as i see it) can render the car uncertified in the annual inspection? Not sure if voluntary exception from this SW change impacted cars in UKs MOT or not. Im myself new to Sweden. Any thoughts helpful. :)

Coincidentally I received a Porsche recall letter this morning (mines a 2017 4.2 S diesel). It states the software upgrade is mandatory. I'm due a service next month so it will be implemented then. I have an extended warranty and I suspect that would be invalidated if I refused to let the update go ahead.

I was told it was mandatory for the warranty.
Thought it was rougher afterwards and the gearbox was very jerky especially on restarts although that appears to have improved after they reset the gearbox.
