I have received a letter from Porsche HQ today informing me that a software upgrade is available for my Cayenne 3.0 litre V6 Diesel (EU6) vehicle. This is as a result of the investigation by the German Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) relating to the CO2 emission figures. I have been invited to have this software update to be undertaken by my local OPC on a free of charge basis. However from reading various blogs in particular those in the US, I am concerned that the update will affect the performance of the vehicle, also the emissions and mpg figures which may differ to those when I purchased my Cayenne in March 2016, although they will need to comply with the KBA. I have also read that Cayenne owners in the US have been paid compensation by Porsche as they claimed that the emission figures indicated at the time of purchase were incorrect. I would therefore appreciate receiving any comments or guidance on this matter from any members.
