Carrera 3.0 Targa TAJ160R, any members familiar with this vehicle ?

Good afternoon, I test drove this vehicle yesterday at a mainline dealership, I’m wondering if anyone knows it?
Mileage ~64k, but only about 4k in the last couple of decades. Recent suspension rebuild and engine tidied up.
My concerns are:
Data plate missing from right trunk bulkhead ( chassis number present on boot floor).
Dirty great hole cut in the front valence - told it was a mod for oil cooling!
I have no experience of 915 gearbox - but was surprised that there is no return spring when moving from 1st/2nd to 3rd/4th gates, but there is one from 5th/R to 3rd/4th gate, is that as it should be?
