Bit of an aside, but when comparing wheel weights do people consider wheel and tyre together? this is the unsprung mass you are trying to minimise not just the weight of the rim, so Im wondering whether the numbers above include "standard" tyres?..

Wheel weights never include the weight of the tyre. Indeed, tyres vary significantly in weight from one manufacturer to another. But like the wheel, I would not choose a tyre based just on the weight... minimise weight where possible, but not at the expense of safety.
