Car trailer length for a 944

lo all, I hope this is a fair question and not a dumb one but I have no experience of trailering cars.

Obviously I have looked up the length of a 944 and obviously I could just go and get a huge trailer but the longer ones are very expensive indeed.

So the question is how long does the bed of a trailer need to be to safely accomodate a 944.
I'm not sure how much car overhangs normally each end if you see what I mean.

I'm thinking there are a few 944 folk who own or have owned track cars and will defo have the knowledge on this.

Cheers

Hi Mas,

I've got a14 ft ST-070 Woodford trailer.

Which fits the car nicely, but I have to load it with about 12" sticking out the back to prevent the towball weight being too much for the camper.

It does depend on your tow car, I use a camper so I've somewhere to sleep when I get there, and that has long overhang from axle to towball. With SUV you can carry more towball weight, but should not exceed the rating 75KG's in my case.

Thnaks , that helps as quite a few 14 foot ones come up for sale. The shorter ones tend to suggest they are for ' fiesta' size vehicles only and TBH just look too small.

I'm not looking for a newer one for the simple reason that it wont be used much.
I dont think old and not so pretty has to mean not roadworthy and am sure I'll get one eventually thats usable. Ironically I had a perfectly good trailer a few years back that I did up with anti rust paint , a new ply deck and a bit of tinkering re the electrics which is my thing anyway. I sold it for £450 and made a 'handsome' profit. I currently have a solid roadworthy 8 by 4 box trailer too but I have taken the wheels off , given it a roof and made it in to a duck house [:D]
