I had a 996 Targa. Here are the reasons why I would not buy a 997 Targa 4: 1. The view thro the back window with the roof open is terrible. 2. It is very noisy with the roof open, worse than a cab. 3. The roof is expensive to repair and maybe impossible in 10 years time. A friend waited 1 year for parts for his 996 Targa. 4. I don't like the handling of a Carrera 4; too much understeer and it is very top heavy as the glass weighs 70 kgs.. think of a man on your roof! Moreover, much less room in the front boot. 5. It is very difficult to lift heavy objects over the engine to put in the back. Certainly not as easy as the Cayman. 6. Not so easy to sell secondhand. I lost a packet on mine... twice as much as I would have done on a Coupe and 3 times more than a Cab. Have I convinced you? Go on, buy a cab. You know it makes sense.ORIGINAL: dyllani'll tell linda you said that!!! reading the times today i must say the targa 4s is quite apealling!!ORIGINAL: dereksharpuk Dyllan, what a good reason to swop your Cayman for a 911 Gen 2 Cab!
