I meant to put this on ages ago but never got round to it. Here is a video of my car just after it was painted. It's now nearly finished and I am sorting through all the photo's and videos of it.

Enjoy

Looks great Colin!

Hope to see it in the flesh one day when it's done! Going to be one of the best restored 944's out there I'm sure.

Its a Toyota metallic blue.I spent ages looking for a dark metallic blue and spotted this one on a Toyota pickup that a mate had. I have just tried to future proof my car rather than restore it to like new.So when it's finished it will be a good solid car rather than a concourse car.

..makes a lot of sense, you can use it with care but don't need to keep cotton-wool around it.

...can I ask how the GTi is progressing.....keeping yourself busy Colin.

nice colour, keep up the good work

I want to be able to thrash the pants off it.

LOL - Excellent!

I wasn't sure if it was a Porsche blue or not as looked similar to the dark blue you see 993's in.

Lovely colour anyhow [8D]

Porsche has plenty of uncommon and attractive colours that Id have gone for firts, I think. Azurite Blue would have been my choice here.

I looked at loads of blues. I started at Noggaro Blue ( audi rs2 ) then VW Monza Blue, clio williams blue, Porsche midnight blue ocean blue gulf blue etc etc . I spent so long deciding what colour to go that I was only days away from my slot in the booth and still couldn't decide. Then I walked into the garage two days before my slot and saw a Toyota Hilux surf getting a wee bit of attention and I just loved the colour. I know its not a porsche colour but I just want a nice solid reliable car that I can drive and enjoy. If The value of our cars goes up I'll retore it again to factory and back to standard colour and trim etc.
The next time I do it I will get the shell dipped and all the nuts bolts fixings and brackets ect treated and put back to the way they should be. I think I might di the interior in Blue Tartan in the meantime though.
