CAN ANYONE IDENTIFY THIS PLEASE ?

Hi Guys, please can anyone tell me what this is used for ? it sits passenger side of the engine compartment, ive asked on TIPEC & it seems no one has one on their car, it looks like an original part too, cheers Jinxy

It's the port for the rudimentary fault flasher that Porsche had.

Don't even start to think it may be useful as it isn't ;)

Yeah im having probs posting the pic, normally when you inc the img bit either end it appears on the post, mine doesnt seem to ???
 
Thanks for that, how did you manage to get the pic hosted please ?. Aha so its something Porsche techs used in the workshop then ?

Its the (crude) diagnostic port on a turbo (not sure about other cars) and if you short out the correct pins it allows you to set the idle correctly.

Actually if you ever want to adjust the idle speed it is very useful. You need to short pins A and C to defeat the operation of the idle stabilisation valve ISV before you adjust the speed screw on the throttle body.
