Can anyone help with the CDR-32 stereo, please?

I've just bought my first Porsche - a 1999 Carrera 4. So far the dealer hasn't been able to supply a manual for the stereo, CDR-32, and I can't work out how to set up the presets etc. I've also drawn a blank trying to find a manual online to download. Can anyone please point me to an online location where I can find this manual, or suggest where else I might find one?

Welcome Ed! You might not be able to get a CR-32 manual, but the CR220 or CR22 will be similar, I think.

Hi Ed, Snap, I've got a similar age C4 with the same stereo. Where are you based as I have the elusive handbook and whilst I want to hang on to it I can always photocopy the relevant pages or even try and summarise the bits you need. Mark

The CR23 was fitted to later 996s with the optical MOST ring.

I've never seen one, but they were an option on the pre-MOST cars. I have a feeling it might have been something to do with the DSP package. Any chance of one of you chaps posting a picture?

Thanks Mark. It looks like it has exactly the same buttons as a CDR22, so I would imagine the manual will be virtually the same.

Many thanks for all of these responses. Mark - I'm based in Cheltenham, but before you go to any trouble with photocopying or whatever, let me try the CDR-22 download. I tried the CDR-23, but found it quite different. I've actually managed to work out the preset tuning now - sat in Tesco's car park and fiddled while partner shopped! - but it would be useful to understand all the other bells and whistles. I'll post again when I've tried the CDR-22 Thanks again Ed

Hi there,

I too have just bought a 996 with a CDR32 stereo and no manual, a manual would be great, but in the meantime if you have figured out how to turn the TP off that would help save my sanity, most of my drives involve the M25 and its permanent traffic announcements.
