Yet another reason not to buy a car from him - how dare they put the price up after rectifying all the faults!

As Tony says: this shows that the man is a bell-end of the greatest magnitude. Someone will take him down a peg or two soon, Im sure.

I am confused at what is the issue here unless it is because Buchannen have mentioned the car being a stock item at £5k so dissing the other seller. Is the seller not a different garage/person certainly in the opposite end of the country.

If it was sold by Buchannen for £5k then brought up to spec for another £5k is this not what we have been saying all along buy cheap and pay the price to get it right, I do wonder where the other £5k comes from though to get it to £15k.

What is a little worrying is the discrepancy in mileage. Buchanan shows it at 165,000 the new seller has it at 89,700 [&:]

So Buchanan sell at 5k, new dealer spends 6k, mileage appears about halved and price goes up 9k. That other white turbo cab has been for sale for ages at 12k, so 20k seems ambitious. Then again, that 26k one at malton appears to have sold.

I'm a bit confused too. Are BM complaining someone is taking the mickey with the new price or is it a dig at all the work needed?
20k is a bit steep although turbo cabs are getting rare but it needs to be good.

BM are hardly whiter than white, people in greenhouse etc!! That said, if it's the same car the new seller has obviously clocked it? How has he got lots of old MOTS and history? Lessons here, as we say with watch sales, buy the seller and do your homework!!

Re the mileage, might just be BM being silly and creating doubt to put people off cos he doesn't want the other dealer bagging a 9k profit for some reason

Could be. Has anyone seen/remember the original Buchanan advert ?

Do you think they would really bother inflating the mileage of the original ad out of spite? Whole legal mess they could get into for no gain!

on the plus side that should help 944 turbo cab prices even if it doesn't sell - which it won't!

[:D]

Yeah probably paul, whole thing seems a bit silly, BM should concentrate on sourcing more time warp 944s with bus style steering wheels.

There is no way that Buchanan would have sold a turbo cab at 5k - 15k sounds more like...

I don't remember the original ad

How much????? Ha ha good luck getting anywhere near that price.
944 are not ever going to be worth 911 money. I would say around 12k mark for one with a lot less miles. And I love 944turbo cabs

I'm not going to say that Buchanan Motors is a saint or that his cars are to the standard of Strasse, Specialist Cars of Malton or PCT Cars but this looks like it is becoming a bit of a witch hunt against a trader!!

He buys cars and advertises them very well with excellent pictures and lots of descriptions (even if they are not always 100% accurate). He also spends a lot of time making these cars look exceptional in the pictures, even if they are sometimes not quite as good in the flesh (I cannot comment as I have not viewed any of his cars for sale and probably neither have 95% of the people who are putting him down).

But he is a trader and as a potential buyer it is your job to view the car and make the decision whether it is the car for you or not. The fact that he maybe bought it for £3000 and is wanting to now sell it for £9000 is not really an issue. If the seller sold it to him for £3000 which we all feel is too cheap is it not that we wish we had the chance to buy it at that price?

A car will only be sold for what someone is prepared to pay for it and by the amount of cars he has sold in the last 18 months he must surely have sold some good cars otherwise he would not be trading?

I am not going to throw mud, but there have been some cars advertised on this forum and other forums that have not been as described condition wise but it is ultimately down to whoever is considering buying to decide if the car is worth the money or to barter with the seller to get it priced for what they feel is a reasonable figure.
