Broken Electric Window

The 2004 Cayenne Turbo driver's side electric window stopped working for no obvious reason.
I checked fuse, which is good.
When it first stopped, my wife believes the window "homed" to the shut position when the alarm was switched on, which leads me to believe/hope its just a switch issue. OPC wan't 150 to investigate and 300 if it's an electric motor.... Before I embark on this expensive rectification, any advice?

Yes - dont go to an OPC! 150 to investigate?? [:(]
Find a local Indy and build up a relationship.
You only need the OPC for the stamps.

I couldn't agree more. In fairness, OPC said the investigation needed door panels removing/refitting, which may show a loose wire and that will be a fix. Worst scenario was motor replacement.

BTW: I am trying to find enthusiast Independents that expect a fair rate for work that needs to be done, not what they can get away with. My experience of OPC's has been negative. A recent suggestion that a fog lamp was replaced at a cost of 180+fitting was rectified by removing said lamp, draining water and resealing by the man at TyreShop ... been working perfectly since. Gave him £30.
