Brochures, etc.

Hi all,

Seeing all the wonderful scans on the Silver Rose thread made me think. Given that we've had some great information lost when people move on, and delete their photo-hosting accounts, could we start an archive of brochures, handbooks, magazine articles, pretty much anything that is 944-related that we've scanned. One day you might leave the 944 fold, but it would be good to have everything available for future owners.

If you mail every scan you have to me, I can host them and start a faq. All my files are backed up offline, and I can also forward them to the Club archive, so hopefully we should be able to keep them permanently.

Magazine article - 911 & Porsche World March 2006: "Forgotten Sons" which is about the 944s and the 2.7 Lux ("Why did nobody want them?"). Should I send you a scan or do you have it already?

I'd be careful of copyright issues...

Well, of course sending me the real thing would be even better, but that's not always going to be possible.

I'd love to see a current Porsche magazine want to prevent the Porsche Club keeping an informal archive of articles from period issues, benefitting everyone. That'd be an interesting thread!

Please send that, Mike, but of course don't risk copyright breaches unless you are happy to. [:)]

The 944S in that article was my old one. E219UAV. Cracking little car and a great introduction. Last seem for sale in Kent/Surrey for about 1500 needing a new clutch at the end of last year. Considered it for a brief second.
