ADAC - €79 for full European cover

Service is provided by the AA in the UK [;)]

Green Flag, Not sure of price (but competitive) - but main thing is they always turn up quickly and they work via a network of small garages, which means you normally get a bloke that really knows what he's doing (and in my recent case took loads of interest in and care of my car).

Now used them for 20 years and never had a bad experience (unlike AA who I used before).

Touch wood....[8|]

i use aa, as i get a good discount, but they are a pain in the ass.. sent 4 little van's in a row over the course of about 5hrs when i had an oil pipe go; they were intending to repair it on site, and i had no towing eye.. they knew this but ignored me all day until eventually they sent a flatbed.. they also left me standing on the side of a motorway in -5 weather for 3hrs before showing up last year.. i will not be using them again next year; the ADAC sounds tempting though; I can cope with sh*t service for 1/2 the price [:D]

I use Britannia Rescue. About £90 for personal cover, cover six cars and the bike. Similar to Green Flag, uses local garages. Once had to put my Jeep on the flatbed and tow the caravan home, all the way from York to home in Cleveleys. Earned their money that year! All the times I have used them they have always been quick on the scene and do a brilliant job. I can happily recommend them.
Don't know about European cover.

Cheers,

My Green Flag renewal arrived this morning ... £177 (for 2 people, personal cover - so ulimited cars, and including some extras like "home start") - but still very expensive[]

Is there a UK web site for ADAC? I don't speak/read German!

Pete - Thanks! - how did you find that.

Does seem a bargin. I need to read more before I decide to switch - but I need to do something because just discovered Green Flag won't cover cars > 10 years old outside UK[&:] and I'm going to Spain/France in summer.

I phoned them about car age limits when I was thinking of taking the cover out, and was told that "OldTimers" were covered [;)] (I think they meant the car....)

I use the RAC offer advertised in PP, with the club discount. Works out at £125 for me an the Mrs driving/passenger in any car.

For Europe, Direct Line always comes out cheapest and they cover older cars.

i have got tesco breakdown recovery ( which is actually green flag)
its £55 for total cover for 1 car.
only up to 16 year old cars ,so when it runs out this time next year ,they wont cover me.
i dont know about europe cover, but i dont need it any way.
