Brake Disks - which manufacturer?

I had EBC pads fitted to a Yamaha FZR600 which were so bad that they nearly nearly killed me.

It has nothing to do with your commitment, skill or heroism and everything to do with the dire quality of EBC brake pads.

I have EBC pads fitted to my ZX6R and no issues other than the noise they make, seem to work fine no real fade and last reasonably well but maybe I dont work mine as hard as they are intended. But would agree for the car I went for standard Mintex pads less than £30 a set and work fine.

As I respect the experience and knowledge of denizens of this forum, many thanks for this information - this has been a very useful topic and certainly has changed my views of what to slot into the calipers...

Minor update on this; I ordered the Pagid front L/R interchangable disks from CarParts4Less (£43 each), despite them being listed as 'Not in Stock' on the website, hoping they would send me some when they do come into stock.

Three days later, a very large and heavy parcel arrived from CP4L, with two Sebro disks in (interchangable, so not the very pricey ones), which they seem to have sold me as they were out of the Pagid items. It looks like I paid £37.39p for each of them, which given that they are £60 each on the website and have an RRP of £145.02p seems to be amazingly good value! Free delivery too.

Pads came as well (Pagid), as well as a good collection of service parts (spark plugs and filters and whatnot.) All I need to do now is to fit them ...

Id sooner use my handbrake than fit EBC products.

+2. I remember a friend of mine asking me if I had brakes on my car when I gave him the keys to my Spitfire 1500. I shall admit that to brake in that car, one required to think quite a bit into the future before the car actually stopped The Mini 1000 after that in comparison was a revelation on new stock pads. Saying that, some people do seem to get on well with them (in both the 944 and Stag circles).

On mountain bikes and motorcycles they do not seem to be too bad.

I used EBC green stuff pads on a 350z and an x trail and found them very good , progressive and never faded.
Vast improvement over std.

They may indeed be better than they were when I experienced them. But a combination of that and the ridiculous posts on PH from the company itself (in reply to valid criticisms) has turned me against them forever.

Well I got an email saying they are out of stock and to contact them because they don't know the lead time. No cheap sebro discs for me then [:(]

20% off all car parts at ECP at the minute guys, you may already be aware but thought i'd broadcast anyway!
