Boxster write ups

Oddly, I would think the opposite, but depends what you are looking for?
Lots of good videos on YouTube on maintenance, really well edited (imho) which is where my interests are.

The days of 'My £1000 auction Boxster: will it run?' or the same facts and figures churned over time and again are certainly few now.

As for this section of the Forum, I find it really good, visit several times a day, similarly on the Cayman side too.

Hi all.
There seems to be a lack of Boxster write ups either PP or online ?
Not really exceptable for the members.
Who are you shooting at now, Cliff? 😂

As you know full well, the Board and the editorial team made the decision to completely change the format of Porsche Post. From the discussions I’ve had, I would say around 75% of ROs and RSs did not agree with the changes and, more importantly, were not consulted about them.

The reality now is that ROs and RSs are being asked to spend their valuable voluntary time preparing 300-word submissions and photographs, only to find that much or any of the material is published.

It’s therefore hardly surprising that people are becoming reluctant to keep submitting content. If volunteers take the time to write articles and provide photographs but there is no reasonable expectation of them appearing in the magazine, eventually people simply won’t bother.

For example, with the Boxster Register, I’ve taken the decision to concentrate on sending our own monthly newsletters directly to members instead. I’m not going to continually spend my voluntary time preparing material for Porsche Post if it isn’t going to be used.

I know from speaking with other ROs and RSs that I’m certainly not alone in feeling this way.

If you’re dissatisfied with the current direction of Porsche Post, I’d suggest contacting the Board directly and expressing your views. Alternatively, make sure you put your comments into the recent Club survey as that is exactly the sort of feedback they need to hear. Thank you.

I have submitted around 8 articles for PP.
All but the last one made it to press.
The last one (2 years ago) was sent, no receipt of that and no response, so I don't bother now.
I do bother doing 'articles' for the Boxster section here on tech and trips in my 987.2.

I did state I was not impressed by the new PP layout by doing the very recent survey, it gave me the opportunity, so I took it.
The old format seemed good to me, but it seems things must be changed even though a formula is working.

I must say that I am glad I'm not trying to be All things to all Men with this wide club.

Nice turn of phrase Matt.
Not shooting at anyone just merely stating fact of a 30 year member.
Of course i dont receive content from the South so could not comment nor does Tracy she is still blocked from Whatsapp South despite asking you to add her numerous times.
My observation was not only aimed at the PP but also no online content in designated areas which every Register and Region has.
I have submitted my opions in the survey about the PP layout and lack of communication regarding events. We have not recieved any Mail Chimps either.
Not everyone does Whatsapp or wishes to.
A fair playing field for all members to get on events would be better.

All my events are sent via mail chimp and WhatsApp. Some advertised on the Facebook pages too. You requested to be removed from all South notifications - I actioned your request. Will not be continuing this thread. Thank you

Hello,

I agree that communication about events is advertised through Facebook, WhatsApp and emails.
We just had very successful event this Sunday with good attendance this was communicated as above. I am sure you are seeing the videos , post and photos :)
You were invited to attend too but again no communication...We are here to enjoy our cars , have fun, make a friendship and enjoy the community ,

However, it looks as though some events have been organised within particular regions that you are both more involved without the RS being informed. We don’t hold separate regions within regions, so it would be helpful if events organised were communicated to the wider group so all other Boxster owners and looks like we are united by drive.

Perhaps you could write a short article about the last event you organised, as it appears there was no communication shared from that region beforehand. As a result, other members in the wider region were not aware of the event or given the opportunity to attend. Unfortunately, as Matt stated not everything is published even when we do write up - therefore we use social media

Events are normally communicated through Mailchimp and WhatsApp, with some also being advertised on the relevant Facebook pages.
If you dont wish to be in whats app group its very simple - dont join the group , remove yourself and check the events calendar on PCGB events site. Thank you

Please keep this thread civilised and non personal.

Dividing the Boxster register into north and south has clearly upset many people, not least Cliff and Tracy after 15 years at the helm.

Tit for tat posts don't help the members who read these posts and just causes upset to everyone.

Thank you for the cooperation

Just my 2 pence.
I do not go to many PCGB events, national or regional.

I try to keep a simple approach, so 'old School' I guess.

The old PP layout allowed you see clearly what any region was planning, I'm in R13 and they are very active.
Others have things going on that appeal and need a nice drive to attend, 'United by the Drive' dare I say.

Not really interested in Social media for the comms although I am on several Watsap groups but not Porsche.

Clear comms need to be accessible, clear and informative, bit like talking to another person is.

Ploughing the PP format up has not helped many of us, splitting the Boxster Register has not helped (or even makes sense to me).

Sometimes if it hasn't broken, leave it alone.
Or, if a change is made be sure it has benefits/ approval to those affected.

H I Dotti,
Can you please tell me whether Tracy Wilkins asked you personally to delete her from all the Boxster North WhatsApp groups?

kind regards Steve

Hi Steve
I can confirm that i certainly did not ask to be removed from any groups in the North and was as surprised as yourself this morning to discover it. I was given no warning or reason for it and as i haven't posted any derogetory remarks on the threads i am very disappointed that this action has been taken. Especially as i was again removed from the Boxster South What's app groups with no warning or reason and also ive discovered that my Facebook account on Boxster North is also on moderation where i can only post once it has been checked by the admin. I'm awaiting for a reply from the Register Director on this matter.
