Boxster Exhausts

I would like to imprve the aural quality of my 2003 2.7 Boxster.The Porsche sports exhaust doesnt fit this car I believe.This is a shame as Essential Styling do the official exhaust with the valve permanently open for £1000.I have heard of a Dansk exhaust being recommended but someone will always mention resonance.Is there an alternative exhaust that does not resonate and has anyone in the Kent area got one on a Boxster?I had thought of the cold air induction system with say a kn filter but are these still fouling the maf?Any ideas for a better sound that does not cost a fortune?

Tony,

The Porsche Sports Exhaust is available for the 2.7 as well as the 3.2 and 2.5

Essential Styling themselves do a sport exhaust (Helen Goff has one and should be able to comment of any resonance).

Hayward and Scott do one, but I hear it booms at certain frequencies.

Janspeed do a complete system (headers, cats, silencer) or any combination (you can just have the silencer).

Techart do an exhaust.

FFV also do one.

There's a lot out there, I'm bound to have missed several, and I would like to know the definitive answer as well!

There is a porsche sports box available for the newer reared boxsters, the difference is the bypass pipes are inside the silencer box instead of being like mine on the outside and on show.

Tony I have a 03 "S" ftted with a Roock Sports Exhaust sounds amazing if a tad too quiet still :-/ Very Ferrari 355 like and sounds wicked in any rev band. I previously had Hayward & Scott systems on 2 other Boxsters these were 1/2 the price of a Roock and suffered from boom between 2200-3000 RPM which could be tiresome. The systems were a tad too loud and sounded very TVR like.

Tony I had a janspeed on mine, looked and sounded very nice, I am in kent and as I sold the boxster the rear silencer is for sale if you are interested ..............

[]Word of advice you have to be very careful that the exhaust you fit doesn't adversely affect the performance.

I was guaranteed that the performance of my car after fitting the Roock would be identical and I can confirm that to be the case. With hindsight I would say my previous 2 exhausts definitely knocked the edge of the performance somewhat as my current car is so much quicker than the previous examples.
