If you don't already have the Y Cable that gives the 30 pin "old style ipod" connector - you can also use something like this

TUNAI Firefly LDAC Bluetooth Adapter: Hifi Wireless Audio Bluetooth 5.0 Receiver with Audiophile USB DAC 3.5mm AUX for Car/Home Stereo Hi Res Music Streaming; Auto On, No Charging Needed https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01HXXJPWK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_S9ES6TQQP0HY6B5FM45G

(assuming you have usb and aux sockets ) one end in usb, other in aux and pcm set to aux input ( if you have the socket and the option doesn't appear in the pcm - there's a menu option to enable aux as an input option)

That's an interesting little device! As with Rocky do you connect your phone to the cars Bluetooth as well or do your calls come through the Aux port with this device? Thabks

It is a Samsung S10 plus so nice big screen. It can connect two bluetooth sources so phone connection via the carr is unaffected.

Thanks for the help everyone I've ordered the TUNAI from Amazon as I don't already have the Y adapter. Looks like it will do the trick!

Now looking for a suitable phone holder!

I've installed the TUNAI Firefly LDAC but I only get audio coming out the left side of the car.

Really annoying!! I did a software update on the device and it still is the same.

Anyone else have this issue?

what happens with an alternative aux source ( iPod / phone / whatever ). If the same issue then something in the head unit.

Wha about other sources. Cd ? Radio ? if all the same then check balance control , if just aux maybe a faulty socket, if just the Bluetooth adapter the perhaps broken or perhaps plug just not making connection.

need some substitution testing to guess more.

All other sources work perfectly so I don't think it's the head Unit.

It might be the socket, I will have to find something that actually has a headphone jack...

Thanks for this great suggestion, I ordered one of these for my 997.2 from Amazon, it arrived the next day, plugged it in, updated the firmware and it works amazingly well.

The sound levels are a little lower than other inputs but the quality is excellent and it’s a simple little plug. It has its own EQ that can adjust the sound profile, base levels are also good. If you lock your car the USB powers down so no battery drain. Recommended, simple and good value piece of kit.

Hi Chaps,
Can I jump in rather late to this topic and ask a question please? I've recently got my hands on a 997.2 GTS, finally...
I bought the Bovee 1000 device as it sounded the best of a poor job. However, I have issues with installing it. The device itself seems OK, but it has shown up the fact that I have no power to the USB in the cubby under the armrest. I believe there should be?
My car as the BT option and the three sockets there (AUX, USB and iPod). The Aux phono jack definitely works, and I have nothing to plug into the iPhone one, so can't say, but the Bovee doesn't power up and nor does a simple USB to lightning iphone charger cable.
The Bovee is supposed to be powered here, which is a problem.
I've checked my fuses and all seem good. I believe I must power the Bovee here though, because the USB should be more than just a power supply, given that the device is supposed to accept screen inputs from the PCM 3.
I'm at a bit of a loss, and I want to run this to earth, or just return the Bovee to Amazon.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why my USB might be dead please?
Many thanks in advance.

You need the Porsche Y cable.... USB and round pin plug for the "ipod" socket on one side and the 30 pin old iPod connector on the other - the cables are about 30 quid from OPC.

The USB in this case ONLY provides power to the bovee - the round iPod connector is the bit where music and the bovee interface are connected - the car needs to see the connection on the round connector to wake up and realise it's got an "ipod" connected.

That said - usb to lightning cable should at least try to charge ( it wont charge very well - it's USB 2- 0.5A - and a modern iPhone wants at least 1A) but to prove the bovee you can plug the usb part of the y cable into a lead from a ciggy lighter adapter or similar to prove it powers up.

Thank you - that's really helpful.

So the first issue appears to be Bovee/Amazon has supplied the wrong cable then. The one I have has the 30-pin (for the Bovee) one end and then at the other is a USB and a 3.5mm phono jack. By the sound of it what I need is a USB-and-Ipod cable so I can connect to the other of the three interfaces in the armrest.

I am still concerned though, as there appears to be no juice at all coming from the USB. I've tried the Bovee in the cigarette lighter (with USB adapter) and the lights work and I can see it on my phone putting out a BT signal, but nothing when I plug into the armrest socket.

I think I will get the jacks panel out and have a poke about with a multimeter, or see if there is anything obvious there that explains no voltage. Meanwhile, another correct Y-cable is also on the cards....

THanks again and enjoy your weekend.

The bovee I had had no cables. It had a 30pin old iPod style socket on the bottom

so. Porsche cable into usb and iPod round plug. 30 pin plug into bovee.

phone sees bovee as a Bluetooth device. Car sees it as an iPod. Track info and skip and search function like it would if was an iPod connected.
