Hello,
This is my first time ever posting on a forum, so here goes. I’ve recently had a knocking noise in my engine diagnosed by my local Porsche Centre. Cylinders 4, 5 and 6 all have bore score. I’m in a 2020 model year that’s done just over 62k. The vehicle has a meticulous service history and has had everything in line with Porsche requirements done to it. I’ve an open case with Porsche to see what their plan is to resolve; ultimately a new engine is required.
This is my first Porsche and didn’t intend on it being my last, but I’m conflicted. I’ve owned multiple manufacturers over the years and never once considered the requirement of a new engine. My question is this - what do I do? Do I walk away from the brand, even if the engine is replaced. How can I keep faith in the brand, let alone the vehicle if a car with fastidious maintenance and care can fail in such a catastrophic way.
Welcome any comments and thoughts on this, whether you’re a Macan owner or long term Porsche owner, it would be great to get a different view.
