Boot light switch

Anyone know where the switch is that operates the light in the boot when you open the hatch?
Thanks!

Hi Steve
My switch is situated on the lower end of the hatch gas strut on the drivers side and as far as I am aware they're al the same. The wire can break as it's continually flexed with the hatch opening and closing.

It's a contact on one of the tailgate struts, the offside if I recall correctly. It is a bit of a naff arrangement working on a tail, of tab, that connects to, and runs along, the inner arm of the strut. The connection is broken when the tailgate closes as the tag rides up over a collar. The tag often looses its spring and doesn't contact with the centre arm.

One new connector on the end of a broken wire - Yay! it's working now! Thank you![:)]

Some of the aftermarket boot struts don't have the right bits for the courtesy light to work, I got some from Promax recently and they worked fine which ended my 5-6 year mystery why my boot light had stopped working when the boot was opened but worked fine when the car doors opened[&:]
