Boost enhancer?

The kit was fitted by Promax who also fitted the KW suspension at the same time.

I am in Lancashire so it won't be going back to Promax for a check anytime soon. I will look at getting a decent boost gauge and an AFR gauge.

Do you know whats involved with fitting an AFR?
 
Drilling and tapping the downpipe for a wideband lambda sensor and then wiring up a cabin gauge.

Wont it leak out past the turbo intake?


I have a bung that fits in the pipe that normally attaches to the turbo outlet, think it was from arnworx.
 
found a link though they show it in the ic rather than turbo output.

For a long time I have been considering a mechanical valve 't'eed in with a whistle or duck caller on the end. Preset to just over your normal boost, then should you exceed it you get a nice audible alert should your boost be a bit high (plus some boost will be bled). Given that my EBC occasionally develops a leak in the sensor side (well twice now) resulting in massive overboost maybe I should sort it!

If you suspect an air leak then it is just as easy to connect up an old domestic vacuum cleaner in a similar manner in the drepression side of the tract, and listen for leaks, perhaps simply by comparing the tone of the motor with the suction hose covered to the tone you get when you connect it into the fanimold. Any lowering of the tone indicates an ingress of air. No not my preferred method at all. With all due respct and apologies.

I can't recommend this method at all!!!

After connecting the vacuum cleaner to the fanimold there was a very noticeable change in tone akin to a loud shriek. I then got hit in the side of the head so hard that I lost consciousness.

The tone has definitely been lowered ;)

I meant when you try to pressure test the intake, pumping air in to the spare port it will go out through the turbo and then the airfilter.
