Blowing Fuses on Drivers Seat

Hi,

When I try to adjust the drivers seat using the switch the fuse blows. The problem has been intermittent over the past 3 yrs consuming about 1 fuse a year. In the past I have replaced the fuse and no prob's, but now it blows straight away.

My car is fitted with the sport seats and have only one electrical adjustment.

Before I start removing the drivers seat, has anybody else had a problem with the electric drivers seat ? If so what caused the problem.

JOB DONE !!

I removed the drivers seat and traced each wire to see if any had chafed and one had.[:mad:]

The wires from the switch to the motor in the back of the seat had worn through its insulation, this causing a short circuit through the metal seat frame.

I have repaired the wire with new flexi insulation and it has cured the problem.[:D]
