Evening folks,

Who is your go-to trusted 4 wheel alignment place?

There is a lot of people that can do a Ford focus but not a Porsche?

Does the OPC in Perth or Aberdeen do it?

If so, does anybody have an idea how much they would charge?

Thanks in advance!

Depends on what you are looking for. If you are just after an alignment check, places like KwikFit have the same laser checking gear as OPCs. If alignment is out, non OPC should be able to fix toe issues but may struggle to do any more. OPC may do better, but they are not specialists at tweaking settings to fine tune handling. Aberdeen OPC charged me £250 last year for setting standard alignment after changing front struts and rear lower arms.

I use Kenneth Brown at Hillington near Glasgow. He can see your car up for fast road or a particular race track depending on what you want.

Also, whatever the equipment, it takes a knowledgeable operator to select the right vehicle spec from the options the equipment gives before doing the setup. For example, standard, -10mm or -20mm suspension build? I once visited an experienced approved Porsche repairer who chose my car to do a PCGB 4-wheel alignment demo. Showed me and about 50 club members that the alignment on my nearly new -10mm PASM car was all over the place. When I asked him which spec he had selected from those offered by the system, he then demonstrated to everyone that he had not chosen the correct one, and hadn't asked me what the car spec was either. Once he selected the correct spec, the existing alignment came up as perfect. Mind you, plenty of owners (not on here of course) haven't a clue as to their car spec either!

Thanks for all the responses. I am going to change out some old suspension bushes/arms etc due to them being perished. My car is standard with passive suspension and I just want to have it set up to recommended factory settings after the work.

Davegt,

I can confirm GT Tyres Forres do full 4 wheel geometry on their Hunter rig.

Speak to George Cameron who does the work himself and knows the Cayman settings from my many visits there.

Brian.
