So, my winter job this year was to change the belts and replace the front crank oil seal and oil pump drive. Later had been leaking for a while.
Anyhow, all back together and car running well. Random thing happened tonight though, I popped down to the local convenience store to get a couple of beers. As I arrived I noticed it was shut - started to turn the car and it stalled.
After pushing it across the road and attempting to start it repeatedly, I popped the bonnet - no clouds of smoke, oil, water or anything to note, apart from zero fuel pressure.
Tried starting it a few times, still no joy. Checked the fuel pump fuse all OK, still no FP. Thought flashed through my mind, DME relay ?
Swapped it out for the spare I keep, started immediately and giving 3bar fuel pressure. Random stuff !
Will check it tomorrow again and invest in another spare DME.
BTW, if anyone needs to borrow tools for belts change, tensioning and front crank oil seal, happy to lend them out.
