Belt Tensioning Tool 9201

Thanks for your help lads...! I went again at the job and took off the tensioner and had a good root around.. The threads were perfect and the spring was sound ! I put it all back together again and tensioned the main belt as described above and locked it down.. The balance belt was also tensioned again... I have been driving a fare bit this last while.. 200 miles Ive covered[:)].. Myself and herself and the acceptable mistress went for a run to Co.Clare and the car was no bother... Cold start this morning - no problem ...No rattles

Once again lads thanks for the advice and I will keep an eye on her... I really feel good with myself for doing the job and getting the experience ..

As Oli said earlier there is no voodoo in it...! [:D]

I suppose if you ask "Should I attempt this myself", then answer is no. Just buy me airline ticket, have pizza & beer available and offer bed & breakfast, then i change your belts for free [:)]
Finished yesterday my 16th belt swap for this summer.

16? You'll be catching us professionals soon Olli! And I charge less than an airline ticket.

Yes 16 swaps so far this summer. I suppose there are about 200 944/968 cars here in Finland...
I have a nice collection of used belts, should take a picture of them [:)]
Cheapest Helsinki-London i have found is less than 100€. At least i charge more swapping belts [;)]

I done mine recently and despite one slight hiccup they turned out great... It aws my first time doing a 944 but I have done a couple of Cavaliers and oddly enough a Golf TDi... The 944 has great access compared to the afforementioned....

Confidence is the big one - get as much info as possible and take your time, think about your next move and it should be grand... I was going to get a fella to do it but the lads on this forum talked me into doing it myself.. Im glad I done it now ....I done it in Daves garage with Dave looking over my shoulder......

I say read the rest of this thread and just go for it.....[;)] Start with the Lux with the manual tensioner for the experience and then the S2 will be childs play...!
