Battery Woes

A battery conditioner CTek is the way forward if you have the ability to do so, mine are kept on conditioners the Lidl / Aldi jobbies are good XS branded.
Recent modern Porsche used Moll which are absolutely bollocks, my 06 plate BMW X3 daily is still on it's original battery, not sure who makes them.
Batteries are also very temperature sensitive, they are best kept when on the shelf between 19 / 23 degrees C or thereabouts.
You can buy a battery disconnecter for a couple of quid from e bay which helps with laid up cars.

After chewing through Bosch batteries in 2 year intervals, I finally realised that I wasn't whizzing enough amps through them. I too have did the de-oxidising thing with the cables which does help, however after some serial alternator swapping (down to 3 hours now on a turbo, go me!) I had a eureka moment and finally replaced the cooling duct this year for the alternator. As a result more often than not I'm seeing over 14 volts when driving. This would previously start at 14 and drop down to 13 after 10 mins or so. So a cool alternator charges better. During my reference sensor dramas today, even after multiple non starts, my starter was still whizzing round like a windmill in a hurricane. So a decent battery, a cool alternator and good battery cables would seem to be the oracle. Who would have thought that????

:ROFLMAO:
