Battery...which one?

Well, after 6 years of wondering when it would die, my battery wouldn't get things going today (when I actually needed to move the car). It's lived on a battery conditioner, but even that hasn't saved me. Oh well.....so:

Has anybody seen a EuroCarParts discount code for batteries recently?

Is Bosch still the one?

I can only speek for my own experience and i know bosch silver have the name but my last bosch silver died after 13 months. I bought it online cheaply as ecp were not competitive on them at the time even with the 25% off. I couldnt find the bill a year later either oops.
I now have 3 if the lion brand batteries from ecp ( all 25% off list price) and none have disapointed me yet.
Sometimes you really do just pay for the name in my opinion.

The code All20 currently works to get 20% off

However I have the Bosch 096/100 battery from Promax on my car and that is £77 inc without any fancy discount codes

Thanks...need to get some stuff from Promax, so I'll give themn a call. Mind you, 13 months from the Bosch is no good at all, is it?!!

Meanwhile I've got a proper battery charger on it...we'll see what that does. Clutching at straws....?!

As an alternative to Bosch batteries I can recommend the Exide Brand which ECP sell at a half decent price with the discount codes in place. They seem to be quite a sturdy battery. Hell, my MGB gave the last Exide I bought enough punishment with its 'Smart Charge' regime (read it stopped charging when the battery hit 13V and then would start to charge again once the battery went down to 11.5V (until one day the alternator inevitably died).

Thanks for the tip Paul....Bosch 096/100 ordered from Promax today. I'll get some fog/driving lamp covers too whilst I'm up there tomorrow.

An interesting discovery when I checked the existing battery...it's a Halfords although the last invoice in the records file was for a Bosch. The dealer that sold me the car must have swopped batteries over...when I take the old one out I'll look for a date.
