At this time of the year the 964 seems to eat batteries, leave your car for a week or so unused and the Battery does the pancake act.
What is the best Battery to buy and where can I get it from:-

There have been various discussions elsewhere recently regarding starting problems in the winter, to which 911s seem particularly prone.

I' m not sure what causes the problem in 911' s, perhaps the enormous clock takes a larger than average current, certainly the essential alarm takes a small current, but any small drain over an extended period is going to cause a problem.

A battery contioner, such as Airflow or Optimate, costs about £35 and cures most problems.

However if the battery is already on it' s last legs then the replacement spec. itself should be considered. Not being a 964 owner, I don' t know the correct spec for the battery, but certainly for the previous models the standard battery 66AH , with a 88AH option. The price of a good quality 88Ah battery with a good Cold Cranking Amperage is not much more than a tank of fuel (about £85) and a 60Ah cost about £60
