Hi All,
So, back in 2021 I sold my 986s and used the money towards a rather smashing Arctic Silver 2001 996 C4. Over 12 months I spent a small fortune on:
After 12 months of ownership I rather stupidly p/x'd it against a 2006 997 C4S only to find out that after 6 months of ownership the engine was actually made from chocolate and the dreaded bore scoring reared it's ugly head, but I still managed to get rid without losing any money. Whilst at the same garage I noticed a very familiar looking Silver C4 and, lo and behold, it was my old 996 back on the forecourt. After a brief discussion I purchased my old beauty and we've been happy ever since.
The reason for my post is that I've realised that I actually prefer the 996 rather than the 997! I find the entire driving experience much rawer and exciting as opposed to the more refined 997. I drove up to Rhos-on-Sea (North Wales) from Wolverhampton last week and enjoyed every single minute of the 210 mile round trip. What was also a god send was the fact that after doing just over 500 miles the oil hasn't dropped at all, whereas the 997 drank oil like a thirsty tramp necking a 5l bottle of Frosty Jack!!!!
So here's to many, many more happy driving miles in my lovely, lovely 996.

- New clutch & IMS Direct Oil Feed mod
- 4 new coffin arms
- New expansion tank
- New AC condensers
- Kenwood stereo
- New alternator
