Seems I have dispelled one internet myth at least, that you must have a role cage before fitting a harness, seems in reality you are better off with a decent 4 point harness and a good bucket seat, over a 3 point seatbelt, roll cage or not.

I'm no racer, and I don't want a cage in what is mainly a road car that does a few track days. Schroth recommended a harness bar or mounting the harness at the rear seatbelt fixing points.

Sometimes it isnt best to be rigidly held in place. If you dont have something to keep the roof up then you want to be able to go with the flow, as opposed to being lashed against your seat...
Youve already got excellent seats Edd, so virtually all of the not-crashing benefit is lost on you.

Yes your right, I am aware of this, the 4 point harness (all Schroth versions have ASM anti-submarine tech) would be fitted whilst still keeping the 3 point seat belt for use on road.
