We have a number of events coming up in the near future.

25th - 27th August Silverstone Festival. A number of R18 members are attending.

3rd September. Cars & Coffee – Charity Farm. Appley Bridge, Wigan WN6 9PP. Get there by 8.30. Great breakfasts available in the café. Usually around 100 sports, supercars and classic cars attend.

Sunday 10th September. Classics at The Mill St Catherines Hospice, Lostock Lane, Lostock Hall, Preston, PR5 5XU. You will need to book breakfast via the website although there is a takeaway service. At 11.00 Alan Ridehalgh has arranged a drive and lunch and neds know if you would be going on the drive, so he can tell the finish venue where we would be having food, numbers, so they can reserve and area for us. Alan would also like to know who may be coming as he will be checking the route the day before and if there are any major roadworks which require any major diversions the route may not be feasible, or even cancellation.

Tuesday 12th September – 60th Anniversary of the 911. Porsche Centre Preston have invited R18 members with 911s to an evening event to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the 911. This is a strictly ticketed event for 911 owners and pre-booking is required via Eventbrite. Further details can be found HERE.

Please do not just turn up on the night as you will be turned away by PC Preston staff.

Sunday 17th September – Breakfast meeting at Jasmine Porschalink, Nelson, followed by Drive & Lunch. Please e-mail me if you would like to go on the drive and I will pass your details onto the event organiser to help with catering numbers.

20th September Monthly meeting – NOT at Garstang GC – Due to Women’s Institute having its Annual Meeting, lasting the week, we are unable to use the facility. We have a couple of alternatives, such as keeping the date as 20th September and finding another venue, move the meeting a week later, or find an alternative venue. As soon as I have a suitable venue, or change of date, I will post this information.

As you know I have been exploring alternative venues to Garstang GC for our Monthly meetings. I have been in touch with 45 venues around the Region, should the new owners of Garstang GC not want to accommodate us.

Future Events
We are looking for several volunteers willing to organise breakfasts and drives for 2023 and 2024 If you would like to do one of these please e-mail me.

Does anyone want a 2023 Christmas Lunch? If so, have we any volunteers willing to help organise this?

2024 – Weekend of the Year (WOTY). Would anyone be interested in a WOTY. In previous year, pre-Covid years we have met up on a Friday evening, gone to some Scottish venues and left on the Sunday afternoon for a scenic drive back to Lancashire. We have had a scenic drive on the Saturday, possibly meeting up with other Regions members, and a dinner. Would anyone be interested in helping to arrange
