appologies in the late posting for August's report, I have just recieved today from John..

PCGB, Region 13, Hereford, Worcester & Shropshire
August 2008

The Hadley Bowling Green Inn on the Last Tuesday of the Month.

Situated on Hadley Heath, near Ombersley. Post Code is WR9 0AR. This is a well- known country establishment, with a large, good car park and within easy reach and is usually well attended.

John Adams and partner having escaped from R17, were with us again, with regards from David Newton. Also I was pleased to see Andy Taylor again and several of the regulars.

There was one note of caution, one member went to Halfords for a top up for his power steering and asked for "˜Dextron' or equal. He was given ATF fluid and told it would do the job. Subsequently, the seals in the steering rack failed. We looked at the very small print on the back of the bottle and it said, "˜do not use in place of Dexton ! Be careful, when you buy these products and do not rely on the "˜Experts'.

I dished out more Forms for our trip to Criccieth on 28th September, otherwise, please ask if you want one yourselves.. You know it is R9, but the more the merrier. Meet at Dobbies Garden World/Services/Little Chef/ESSO Petrol Station; Bayston Hill, Shrewsbury by-pass, Junction A5/A49, Car Park opposite Little Chef at 8.45 am. Please let Colin Billington, on 0121 352 0194, or 07768 152252, know, that you will be coming.

Next Meeting "" Will be at Hollingworth's, at Hoo- Farm, near Kidderminster, Tuesday September 30th at 8pm. Post Code, DY10 4UE. I will be at the Bowling Green at 7.35 pm, to collect any strays who can't find their way. We shall leave there at 7.50pm, so don't be late. Otherwise, ring me beforehand for instructions.

Forthcoming Events.

September 28th "" A Trip to Betws-y-Coed, Motor Museum and then a run to Criccieth. See above.
Although organised by Region 9, this is close to our Region and is an Autumn Run Out and not to be missed. Give your cars a good breather, perhaps before the winter lay off. I know it is a long day but with a well organised tour, it is a fun day to be looked forward to. If you received Forms our meeting or elsewhere, please send them to Colin if you have not done so already. If this goes well, perhaps we will sort out a WOTY for next year.

September 30th. - Hollingworth's as above.

October 19th "" A Charity Run from OPC Sutton Coldfield

November 14th to 16th Classic Motor Show at the NEC. Volunteers, phone Geoff Ives, See Porschefile.

Winter is coming and the goose is getting fat. On my windscreen, I've splatted a gnat.

. John Lord.
