At long last.... as promised... it's here!

Lets not talk about it on here but I'd be interested in who did your setup. I had a 964 RS in stock recently that also just had a setup done whilst still owned by the previous owner. Both front strut bottoms were left lose and I experienced the same problem as you.

The large bolts at the bottom of the strut to wheel hub were almost falling out. Couple of the nuts only on by a few threads. Best check this.

Paul.

Well couple of updates on this...

Firstly, the supplier has gone above and beyond the call of duty on this and a tiny problem picked up on my French Controle technique... would highly recommend H&S on the back of this buying experience...

Secondly, been through all the paperwork supplied with the car, and the story gets even more bizarre (for those of you who haven't already dozed off!)...

To summarise, my car had a chassis number transfer from a crunched red RS N-GT, and the mileometer (is that kiloometer in European??) was wound on to match the service history of the departed car.. I was interested in what sort of mileage my car might actually have travelled in it's life.

Well the last service for the Red Car was Jun 99 at 34,100 km

And the car seems to have been doing around 3,000 km per year.

The car was de-registered mid April 2000, assumingly after the interface with the tree. Mileage unknown, but we can assume somewhere North of 36,000 km, given it's historic usage.

Car was re-registered, noting that it was now considerably wider than previously and had 18 inch wheels in May 2001
So we can assume this is after the VIN was dropped onto the RS 3.8 bodyshell, and the car was rebuilt with the new paint, interior and BiTurbo motor...

Car was then taken off the road again in September 03 until I re-registered it in May 07.. with 39,400 km on it...

Would appear, given we know that the 3.8 RS sat mostly in the collection until this conversion, that my car is only about 5000 km or so from new???

Now that makes me quite chuffed!
