Hi,
Here is how i made the conversion:
1) Slid top plastic cover off the bottom steel "pan"
2) Primed and sprayed interior of "pan", finished in matt black
3) Unclipped sliding plastic section of top cover, discarded this part.
4) Dremmelled and filed the closed half of the upper cover until i had created a full perimeter rim of consistent appearance.
5) Cut some non slip material (purchased from eBay) to the size of the lower pan, making sure enough pad overlapped the edge of the pan. This is important as you need to tuck the overlapping pad into the gap that exists between the top edge of the pan and the underside of the plastic covers rim as the large gap does not look good.
6) Used double sided sticky tape around top edge of pan to secure pad.
7) Slid the upper cover onto the lower pan.
