John assuming one doesn't mind PDK I would take the OPC car with sport steering wheel and PSE both to be supplied and fitted for ex factory original cost The wheels in that factory black finish aren't that bad IMO but if dealer could swap them out for Spyder alloys that would be very acceptable To that spec I would pay the asking price[8D]

I really dislike the sports design wheels. I had those on my 05 Cayman , they are a piggy to clean and now look very dated imo. I sold mine for £800 and bought the normal Cayman wheels. The sports wheels are he next best wheel as seen on the Black Spyder IMHO so not fact just IMHO Got that ? IMHO, !!! They are also the only other wider wheel. All others have the wrong offset for a Spyder, so it,s not only a looks thing, it' a performance thing. The wrong wheels really don't work on a Spyder IMHO Disclaimer: any posts made by me are only my own personal opinion and are not fact.

Assuming the SHirleys car is no longer on Porsche service history (did someone confirm that or was it just a hunch?) Assuming that a Barbara from Kent in a Spyder without a radio is bogus [] I'd have to choose the OPC car[]

Welcome Steve [] The best way is to upload your photo to flickr or photobucket or similar then post the web address of the pic. You then either put

at the end, or highlight the web address and click the 'image' button in your posting window. As you've uploaded the pic to the forum server, when we view the pic we get the full web address, which is what daro used. But, uploading the pic to the server, such is the popularity of this thread, if we all did that we'd get 'shut down' for filling up the server. If you don't get what I mean, go to someone's post which contains a pic and click on 'quote' which is towards the top right of their post. You'll see the syntax for the image.

Hi Steve nice spec Spyder and quite a difference to your Caterhams I right clicked my mouse over your picture and copied the picture then pasted it in my post. Sometimes you have to copy the url in which case you right click over the picture copy URL and then click on IMAGE tab above and paste the URL in between the two IMAGE boxes Hope that isnt coming across like Chinese backwards []

I think I see what you mean re the photo - thanks. The trip to Italy was great. Quite a different experience from touring Spain in the Caterham - no need to strap luggage to the roll bar in waterproof bags for instance. The last Caterham (R400) was probably too quick for the road unless you just want to play with the bikers. The Spyder is more mature, but still feels special and a bit different from the norm. Definitely better for touring. The Caterham was a beast on track however! There seems to be 2 schools of thought about aircon - we've not got it and only really began to feel we might need it when the temp hit 30 in Italy, but still survived in relative comfort. I get the impression that quite a few of us with Spyders have come from Caterhams and Lotuses. Porsche obviously hit the right buttons for us when they spec'd the Spyder.

Had mine close to 2 years, was a Xmas present. Wanted some thing as a 2nd car which was like my 2 Lotus, Noble etc hence buying this sort of lightweight spec car. No regrets and it means it's the fastest As the car was free to me it does not owe me anything so resale is a non issue anyway, but it' nice to see strong values. Lucky enough to have the same sort of car with a Roof and the toys for my every day car and that's what I work hard for and the car I keep an eye on price and miles wise. Only 2 cars I like as a 2nd ATM, one would be a F430 which while possible would mean a basic cheap every day car and that's not that attractive. Or to downsize to the newer Elise Sc car with the charge cooler in Orange. But I like the Spyder better than a Elise so again another non starter., but if the Spyder was not available the Elise SC car would be in my garage. Hence 2 years on I still have it and nothing much on the market to swap it for. I.ll prob change the R next March, buts that's more a miles, tax thing not because I want to.
