Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

ORIGINAL: flat6 As others have done, get your name down with a few OPC's, say one in each of the franchises, or just one that is keen on sourcing Spyders such as PC Silverstone. You could find a good car that way as some aren't coming to market as they are being sold to a waiting list. Good luck!!
after my car had its first service the other week a few days later I received a letter asking if I wanted to sell it!as if an opc would give me £40k+ which is the minimum I would let my car go for!!!!compared with whats been on offer at circa £40k I would say the forecourt price for my car would be circa £43-44k so perhaps they were after a quick buck!

ORIGINAL: flat6 :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: I think we got down to one car twice before but they weren't quite as desirable as this one as a last one. Not seen the Shirley car as yet, was going down on Thursday to view both. I have been in touch with local OPC (Newcastle) who will try to track down a Spyder for me. So will see. I think there will be other cars appearing as more owners will be coming to end of various finance deals and ownership packages and except not all enthusiasts so these will go for sale. Just hope they don't read this and sell their cars nice and cheap [:D]

If there aren't any OPC cars for sale next month I will have to sacrifice my garage queen just to keep this thread going [&o][:D][&:] I can officially confirm when I owned my Speedster between 89-2003 there wasn't a single month without a car being for sale somewhere barring in mind there were only ever 65 cars to start with I can also confirm that OPC's never dealt in the used Speedsters much, if at all, and they mainly came to market through specialists like Bramley or Romans and more often than not as private sales So the popularity of the 237 UK Spyders has been far greater than the 911 Speedsters proved to be but the fact one is a brilliant focused driver and the other is the total opposite probably has a lot to do with that[&o] NEW PAGE NEW PIC

If you are in no rush between now and Springtime there will be plenty of fresh cars to market otherwise I will definitely have to shut this office down and make several people redundant:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Not sure, but old people like me would probably have to hold their own face on when doing an emergency stop!! [:D]

ORIGINAL: MrDemon very very very fast wonder what a Spyder in lightweight spec with PCCB stops in from 60 mph. ?
Get yourself and your partner out there with the stop watch and be the first to report back [;)] Our Boxster S tester weighed just 3133 pounds and accelerated from 0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds, beating a manual-equipped base 2012 911 Carrera by an insignificant 0.1 second. The Boxster S also matches the same 911 Carrera in the quarter mile at 12.7 seconds, though at 109.7 mph it was a few ticks slower. Slowing down the fun from 60 mph takes just 102 feet, without the $7400 carbon ceramic brakes. so from 60 to 0 in 31 meters in a boxster S with steels. going by that I can beat the P1 braking distance of 30.2 meters in my car :) I have a vbox like the mags use, so no need to mess about with string and getting out the car.

in testing it could not get under 7 minutes, So a slight issue for them after the 918 posted a 6.57 with time in hand. be interesting, but I doubt they can beat that time till spring 2014 now, I guess it was a shock for them to not crack 7 minutes the other month.

ORIGINAL: daro911 Anyone seriously looking for the anorexic Spyder won't be put off by current weather conditions it isn't like another will pop up again shortly At £39k privately it would have to have service and warranty included I would think fitting the radio back, wiring loom, speakers, reprogramme ecu are all going to cost a pretty penny and 99.9% of potential owners would want it without question IMO Plenty of Lotus owners smelling the coffee and switching to Spyders so priced to sell I am sure it would find a home[8D]
I agree. The time of year doesn't affect how they sell. If anything, the less that are offered to the market, the quicker they sell, naturally. As you say, putting a radio in a Porsche that isn't shipped with one is probably prohibitive in terms of cost and not worth it to the seller to do so. Someone will want one without a radio but it doesn't look as if there is a long queue of people so inclined. Unpopular spec'd cars will sell but that doesn't prove anything. A low number of buyers and sellers for an unpopular spec will indeed find each other. Likewise, there are very few aqua blue Spyders which means it was unpopular choice, but an aqua blue car will sell quickly because it is rare and one buyer will jump at one seller.

RobK and Andy, have a good day at Oulton Park tomorrow. I won't be able to join you but maybe I can do the next one at Anglesey or Oulton[:)] Rob, hopefully there will be no sheep stepping out on track[;)] Andy, did you get round to upgrading your brake fluid[:-][:)]

Bloody hell Cecil!! I nearly spat my coffee out when you wrote "tomorrow"! It's the 23rd [&:] But it's a shame you can't make it, but I'm sure the weather will be better at Anglesey. Yes all brake mods are done so it'll be interesting to try it out on track Although it looks the same as the std one. Hehe where did you find that focus pic? That was the Cambrian Rally 12 months ago [:D]

you might get Sun Wednesday. I am interested to hear about the GT3 MC install and the feel on that unit from Andy. and if by magic a pic arrives standard is 22 mm PCCB is 23mm gt3 Master is 24mm so they say, I guess they all look the same. did they bench bleed the MC ?
