April weekend drive

Yes, a bit early I know (we haven't had the March one yet) but it was pointed out at the pub last Tuesday that we have a treasure hunt organised for the second Sunday (April 10th) starting from Bodiam, so maybe we'll meet up for that instead of the Saturday drive on the 9th.

Not that I'm suggesting you shouldn't drive out 2 days in a row, but if you can only make one day it would be good to support the region events as a lot of work goes into the Treasure Hunt.

Just passing that on.

Everyone OK for March 12th ? Where to this time? Give me a couple of days and I'll post some ideas (a different direction this time, more northerly or westerly perhaps) - up Box Hill sounds good - leave it with me.

Glad you let us know that Phil, as I was just about to put up notice of the next Saturday run. I'll be there but never done this before so need all the necessary info.

Can we make this months Saturday drive the following Saturday? Anyone interested?

Just to confirm what you mean, you're looking at 19th March for this month? I think I'm OK.

Me, I'm just confusing myself, and the rest. Let's have the Saturday drive on the usual 2nd Saturday date, i.e 12th, this month, but next month move it to the following weekend of the 19th (April).

errr, that'll be the 16th I think? [8|]

So, it's 12th March and 16th April, glad we got that sorted.[:)]

Well, I had a look at the map and I can't see a very sensible route out to Box Hill, maybe save it for a bit later in the year when we might want a longer run with lunch.

We could go down to Bramber or Arundel. Looks like a good route, faster roads than last time. I'd go down to join the A272 again, then through Haywards Heath and Cowfold to pick up the A24 at West Grinstead. Head south - fast dual carriageway although a couple of restricted camera'd sections - and it's pretty easy to

...go into Bramber (lovely little village, old castle, no idea about parking or tea rooms though) or,
...down to the A27 and along to Arundel (again I've got no idea about parking but might use it as an excuse to go and have a look this weekend).

Sorry we couldn't make Tuesday's meeting but Chris cracked 3 ribs at the weekend . . . . don't ask!
 
errrrr....... whoops, I can't make the 16th April [:-]. Looks like you'll need to sort another route-meister for that day.

I organised a PCGB drive around Sussex about 18 months ago which finished at the Gardiner's Arms having started at Pease Pottage. It would be easy enough to reverse the route. The total mileage was 100 miles taking in the Devil's Dyke and Houghton
 
Agree in principle but have an alergy to fish! Can always have pie & chips though, but you must promise not to dump oil all over the front of my pride and joy again. Was also concerned that your engine had let go; glad it was nothing too serious.

Thanks for the concern, but there was no lasting damage, and with a CDI box fitted I can get over 5,000 rpm now. With the full 7,000 let's see if I can match the 997s!

Is that right?
Some people are going to double thier monthly milage[;)]
