April DOTM Cotswolds Classic Car Hub, Bibury - Sunday 7th April 2019

Welcome, Dave, Lindsey and Russ. 14 now.. might need two convoys!!

Bren & Gail if you are at the Super Sausage you become R10 honorary members!!

Yessss! Car no.17! We’d better warn the Super Sausage! Volunteer needed to be lead man (person!) for convoy no. 2!!

What I mean is we will have to split April 7th into two if we get many more cars or we will be in breach of MSA rules!!

Or tap the post code in and slowly make your own way there ...... And if you just happen to meet other Porsche type cars on the way so be it ........ can't be helped ..... plus it's a 60 mile trip so we are bound to get split up af some point.

Word of warning, this is now posted on the sign-up page!

”Please note: We have temporarily removed Porsche from the registration list due to an influx of signups. As we like to have variety at our events, if you would like to come along to The Hub in a Porsche, please consider signing up for a future event instead.”

Hahaha, poor them!

we need to get there at the same time with R10 Flags and dressed like vikings ready to conquer the Hub!

I'm assuming that's the case Sue. I've got a "Your order is complete" confirmation email, so unless I hear otherwise I'm assuming that my place is booked.

I suppose the Hub's stance is to be expected given that there are a limited number of places available - it's not a Porsche-only event..!

Jeff

Hi everyone,

I am sorry that this event is currently closed to Porsches! In my eagerness to get everyone a chance of attending by booking early, and with everyone doing what was asked of them, we have overweighted the Porsches in proportion to other marques. Our numbers stand out because we have taken a large chunk of the early bookings.

I am sure that existing bookings will be honoured.

I will have a word with the proprietors of the Hub to check this point and also to see if they can allow any more in, either now, or a bit further along the line. They certainly made no indication to me that they make this kind of restriction.... but perhaps it’s a first for them!

Meanwhile, if those unlucky ones still wanting to go could let me know on this thread, I will set up a reserve list.

If anybody already booked finds they cannot make it, however close to April 7th that might be, please let me know that too, and I will try to get the Hub to accept a swap from our reserves.

The good news is that this is a regular event and others will be able to attend in the future. In addition, their 1st September event (on the R10 calendar) is Coffee and German Classics, which hopefully will be open to a bigger proportion of Porsches.

Thanks for your understanding.

Mark

Mark, neighbour and member couldn't get his Porsche accepted but did his M3 CSL, could he tag on convoy. He's already accepted for the September run.

Any other members with different cars could do the same[:D]

Hi Geoff,

I agree that’s a good way to get accepted by the Hub for the event.

Strictly, each person will be choosing their own time and route to Bibury, and many will choose to follow the car in front. On that basis, your friend can of course tag along.

If other members wish to book non-Porsches, and come to the Super Sausage etc for breakfast we will be pleased to see them.

At the time of writing, with 18 cars heading out, I might ask half the cars not to follow and go a different way or at a slightly different time.
