I havent tried that....I know that may sound a bit lame, but the case seems very well secured and not having put it on, not sure how it comes off! Seen a micro usb to female lightning adapter....if it’s just sensing a lightning chip on the cable, it might work....?ralphmusic said:If you take the iPhone out of the battery case and plug into the iPhone directly, does that work?
You can connect wirelessly but that requires a third-party device which was the subject of another thread, possibly in the 991 Section.
Why connect iPhone directly outside the case? I was just suggesting options in the absence of info, I am not saying the case is the problem but if you can't connect per the car's manual using the case's port, eliminate it to see if that made a difference.
Also, there might be a delay before it connects for the first time.

Thank you appreciate the suggestions - realised I have an iPad that I’m typing on now! Will try that will also google the case provider to see how it can be removedralphmusic said:Basics, assuming you have a 718 series, and a recent iPhone model and IoS you use a cable to connect the iPhone to the centre console USB port per the instructions in the manual.

Does anyone know if CarPlay only works with a lightening cable?
I‘m Normally android but just got an iPhone though work, it it has a battery extender case on it that is micro usb powered. I had plugged it into the usb, but didn’t get any messages on PCM so assume it doesn’t work....seems a shame to take the case off.....etc but wondered if I was doing something wrong...?

plugged it via micro usb and nothing, but then a message on the phone about unlocking to access features - unlocked and CarPlay displayed on PCM - thanks for putting up with my stupidity!
Not having a good lockdown day!
