Apple Car Play/Andriod Auto
Hello
I'm considering purchasing a pre-owned 718 Boxster S. My query regards Apple Car Play/Andriod Auto.
My limited research seems to suggest that it became available on the 718 for MY 2017.
I wonder if members would be able to help me with the following questions.

1 Am I right in saying that Porsche introduced the feature for MY 2017 718's?

2 When introduced was it a Standard Feature i.e., not an Optional Extra? If you were to order a new 718 today it is a Standard Feature.

3 Can the feature be retro fitted at a Porsche Dealer and/or Specialist?

4 If it can be retro fitted has anyone have experience of the costs from a dealer or specialist?

5 Are there any other implications I should take into account.

I'm presently looking at a low mileage MY 2016 718 Boxster S. It looks likely that this car only has Bluetooth and not Apple Car Play/Andriod Auto.

Many thanks.
Regards Phil Ward

I should be on commission

NM Automotive do conversions to the head unit though it is not a diy job.

I would hope you could find online brochures for the model specific year specs.

Amy mods are looked upon very unfavourably by Porsche especially if the car has their extended warranty. Might be less than obvious to them though

Two more thoughts. If the car has wired CarPlay then the dongles from Carlinkit plug into the socket and give wireless CarPlay.

NM Automotive also sell similar but at a higher cost

Lastly I've made wireless chargers (originally for my 987 and Macan) using 3D printed parts and off the shelf QI chargers and can make them for the 718s. This for the 991/981
