Anyone want 16" Fuchs?

yes - a lighthearted approach to the ad is a good idea I think

At that sort of price, you'd expect it to have that sort of history anyway. New'ish red paint is preferable to original pink...

A really nice early car should fetch 3k+ now, more at a dealer.

One of the first 944s, and as such should be collectible!

That looks great in the pics, must be a lot wrong with it but it looks a bargain at £1500.

I would buy it for the wheels and then sell it on again... except from the problem of where it is, the recovery costs put me off.

Someone has got to buy that just for the wheels

You never know - it was a part ex, so maybe he just wants to shift it

I want an early 944, Fuchs, Pascha etc... [:)] maybe that will be car #5 eventually [:D]

Looks fine to me for the money if I needed another I would take a look the wheels and interior would sell for more than the asking price and MOTd til June so cant be all bad.

I'd be tempted to have a look if it wasn't an 800 mile round trip. How big a mistake could buying it be for £1,500? The wheels and seats must be worth that and more!

If it were a set of 951 Fuchs then worth the hassle and I be driving up there right now!

Fuchs have been selling for £450-£550 in 6 & 7'' options for a year or so now on fleabay. Paid £500 for my four 7x16''. They ain't the £1200 gems they used to be!

6 & 7" yes but 7 & 8" are worth about £1000 and 8 & 9" more than double that.

I have a set of 951 Fuch 7 x 8 x 16 [:D]

I know. You bagged them before I managed to raid the piggy bank, search under cushions of the sofa for change and sell my kidney!! [:(]

I also missed a pair of rears that were buy it now including shipping from US for £350. I stalled whilst going into PayPal to complete the sale and was gazumped at the final hurdle. []

The pirce is ridiculous - inflated by PH who keeps asking silly prices (and more each time too) for every set that he comes across. He has started asking £1000-£1200 per set even if theyre tatty and people pay it, which surprises both of us...

I went and looked at this car today. The seller seems like a nice guy ( owns a 997 gt3) .Here is what I found

The shell is solid- sills ,floor, wings.boot catches etc all spot on.
Is several different shades of red.
Bonnet has a scoop (924 turbo style) fitted and has been painted with a crackle effect paint on the under side
Wheels look good
Interior has been altered with 968 rear seat delete and a pair of non standard bucket seats
engine starts on the first try and sound good.
no service history

I would say all in all if you are in the market for a cheap 944,then go and see the man and give him the cash and drive it home.#

put a second hand bonnet on it and a second pair of seats drive it and enjoy.

you won't get any better for £1500

Seller was telling me he has had loads of people look at it.He as described it as being worse than it is. Most people have asked for things like service history or pointed out the tiniest of faults on it.
WHAT DO YOU WANT FOR £1500!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am seriously trying to justify another 944 and if I do I'll buy it.

any idea what size the wheels are, i.e. 7s and 8s? i'd ring the seller but doesn't sound like he'd have a clue

Ridiculous or the market rate? Dealers are always going to be more expensive, if he is putting the prices up and people are still buying them perhaps there not so ridicluous? Rare items that are desirable and sought after will always command high prices....

Even he thinks that the price is ridiculous, but every time he asks more people pay. I see your point, of course, but I think that Paul is responsible for the high prices to some degree.

I would do the same, of course.
