This is Wil Lyons' car, very well-known. Anyone who's been around the Club for a few years will know it, so probably better not to put negative comments on unless you actually know what you're talking about! [][]

I don't know why he's selling it, but it's always been a very nice 944. I hope he won't mind me posting his ID here, http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/showprofile.asp?memid=6320

The car did have a knock on one wing if I remember correctly, nothing major I think and I don't know if it was repaired. Of course, it could have had other issues in the year or so since I last saw it, but I'd suggest it's worth a look, and is possibly going to be a steal for someone if it's a no-reserve auction. Caveat emptor, but they say nice people sell nice cars and Wil's one of the most decent people I've met through the Club.

Sorry I was merely pointing out the facts which might be useful to both Wil and any prospective buyer[:(]

Thanks for the nice comments paul much appreciated.
I took the car in for test last year and it failed on a grabbing disc. That was all the testing station were going to re paint the car for me. And has remained in storage as it was my intention for them to do the respray. Then in April I became a mature student. Have full Uni fees and no way of funding the 944 at present.

The wing front panel bumper and under tray batwing. We're replaced with original parts as it has always been insured under a guaranteed valuation policy. Circa £6000. Even tho the damaged wing was only minor.

In answer to the previous comments. I could MOT The car and then advertise it for around £4500 which is its true value as any of you know. ....... How much do you value your car.

For those that know. It is one of only 6 imported to the uk in this colour. And quite probably the rarest colour worldwide.

If I need to MOT The car to Retain the plate and the amount I am considering is reached. Then this will be done. I am to put more photos and information on later. So will see what the next week brings.

Well perhaps but I've been around a few years and I've never seen it. You cant blame us for being cautious Paul, as you know there are a lot of cars out there advertised as this or that only to find out its not all as it seems.

If it is just a grabbing disk it could be a bargain for someone, good luck in your sale..

Hi Will. Didn't know you were selling (hadn't heard from you for a while.) Mature student at uni, eh? What are you doing?

Best of luck with selling the car. Some serious suggestions to help:

1. It's worth spending the money to get 12 months MOT. It may cost a couple of hundred, but you will get that back very easily on the sale price. Without an MOT people are going to look at it and think "I wonder what's wrong with that? Bet it's expensive!" and bid very very little. 12 months MOT is as about as good a guarantee a buyer will get that the car is in good mechanical order, and could cost you very little.

2. If you can, get some better photos of it. I know it's in storage at the moment, but if you have any other photos around then put them on the advert. The current ones aren't great and certainly don't show the car off to it's best. People bid more for things that look good, and you need to show that it looks good.

3. Your advert is in "Everything Else > Other" on eBay ... it needs to be in a "Cars for Sale" section and preferably in a "Porsche 944's for sale" section! People won't come across it where it is, and that's not good.

All the best with selling it. And, for those who are reading and don't know Will, Paul is right - this always was a cared-for and well looked after 944, and would make a good second-hand buy.

I've also seen Will's car, it was a few years ago when he helped me out with a running problem on my old turbo.

It looked a good honest car, so if your after for daily drive I think its worth looking at.

Perhaps I did get a bit "shouty" there, sorry! [&:]

I just don't like the way people always seem to look for a problem, rather than being constructive. It's all you see on PH, and puts a lot of people off dipping a toe in to the "forum" community in fear they'll be made a fool of. I think we need to offer advice, rather than criticisms. Wasn't having a go at anyone here, just a general moan.

With an obvious joke car, like some of the wonderful "modified" comedy cars we see, fair game as they have no right existing. [:D]

pity there isn't better images of the car. I think most prospective buyers would want to see an interior shot and pictures all round the outside.
oops didn't read all the later posts sorry. Good luck with the sale Will. I was a mature student at Oxford and the only student with a car (MGB) . can't tell you how popular I was with the other students lol[;)] pity you can't keep yours .

And it was for the novice buyer who may well buy a car on the promise of " itll fly through an mot mate " that i posted.

An mot will usually pick up on the usual expensive 944 rot problems such as sills anchor points fuel lines etc. Considering why that 35 pounds may not have been spent is very good advice is it not. Most sellers say open to any examination, you get a lot checked for 35 pounds !

Regards mas

Crumbs Mas, you need to tell me where you get your MOT's done.

Mine are nearer £50 these days. (Although I do tip the inspector ... amazing how this can affect his eyesight when looking at rusty sills, bald tyres, high emissions readings and duff bulbs ... [;)] )

Sorry to see you have to sell yours as well Will [&o]

If you need any help getting the grabbing disc sorted I am sure one of us can help you out. It would be criminal to sell your car for such a low value without an MOT for the sake of a minor problem. You really do need some better pictures and more info in the advert or it will go for far too little money.

Looks like a nice honest car Will.I hope you get good money for it.It would be a shame to let it go for less than it's worth.Would you not get it an MOT as it would push the price up a fair bit.
