I have seen a car I would like someone in "the know" to look over for me, as its so far I dont really want to jump on a train for 4 hours to have a look.

please send me a PM if you would be happy to do that for me, happy to pay fuel etc.

Thanks in advance

James [:)]

Hi James, I live in Brighton and would be most happy to have a look at it for you. I am no expert but i know a pile of sh1t when i see it! I could have a look all round it and inside and underneath and give you a call to give you the good (or bad) news. Hopefuly i could also start it up and have a test drive and, report my findings. Let me know what you think.
Regards.
Pete

Mine was driven away less than an an hour ago.

the reason for the change..... rear seat belts lol

It is however something different, and im not saying as I dont want to jinx it, but its a different flavour to the last one [;)]

Seems a bit extreme.. selling due to rear seatbelts??

I was ready for a change too, but it was down to the belts mainly, I need inertia belts in the back for the babies seat, I had a set but I wasnt confident they could be fitted correctly/safely and it would have meant ripping the interior apart, id just spent loads having it sorted so decided to sell and get something with a bit more go as it was a beautiful car but im used to cars with a little more oomph coming from a version 3 STI Type RA.

Just wanted to say thanks to Pete (ex Skyline) for taking the time to view the car for me, I have just made an offer on the car, but it seems im going to be to late as someone else is on their way to see it, and as they are travelling so far he is giving them the opportuntity to buy first (presumably only if their offer is greater than mine).

fingers crossed.

James :)

That happened fast ! Hope it works out OK for you, and you can always drop in to Crawley if your offer succeeds and you are driving back home..... [:)]

that would be great, yes we will see mate, Pete said he would have bought it and he checked everything I asked him to, so bonus :)

fingers are crossed :)

Going to see it again and take it for a test drive tomorrow morning James. It's a lovely little car and well worth the money!
Don't miss out mate!

The Mechanic did. I sent the garage owner a long text message last night but he never came back to me (not yet anyway).

Ok, here is an update. I have already spoken to James on the 'phone and put him in the picture. The car in question is a little sweetie! And i know the chap who's selling it (It really is such a small world we live in)!! Anyway, no rust, excellent cill's, nice clean interior, dosn't smoke, no rattles or bangs, starts first time and sounds very nice indeed. Took it out for a test drive and it pulled like a train! Engine sounds good, still no smoke, bangs or rattles! Managed to get it sideways (twice) on ovingdean roundabout, came back to me instantly! Brakes feel reasonably good but i would think they would need sorting if it is going to be tracked. Also you can hear the transmission whine when you come off the throttle. This will probably whine for the next ten years or, you could give it the Swepco treatment! The choice is yours James! A very nice car for not much money. I'm pleased you are going to buy it James and i hope to meet you on Tuesday when you pick it up. It has taken me four visits to reach my conclusions so i expect you to get me pissed at a Porsche meeting one day!![:)]
Enjoy!
Pete

Cheers Pete, just booked the train, leaving here at 10am, get there around 2pm, cant wait for the return journey [:)]

just noticed its got a fancy stereo in it too, bonus [:D]

Come on guys be fair, we've all waiting to hear what it is.....:)

Whatever it is I hope you get a lot of fun from driving it.

Pete
